Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Peel

Since beginning with the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Peel that I got for free through BzzAgent.com about three weeks ago, I honestly didn't think anything was going to happen by using it.  I don't have any really noticeable dark spots on my face, but I liked the idea of it making my skin more radiant.  Last night when I washed my face, I thought "wow, my skin is actually kind of brighter, I guess that Garnier product actually is doing something".  So there you have it, the thin gooey gel is successful.  I'll keep using it, since BzzAgent was nice enough to give us full size bottles (for free, not the nearly $17 retail price).

Southern Girl in the making

I am a Southern transplant.  I am originally from Maine but thanks to the US Air Force I have been all over this country since 1996.  I try to adopt certain things from all of the regions that I live in, today was a big bunch of adoptions all in one.
First, I woke up early (after staying up until 4 am) and went to church.  I have attended a small christian church twice now, it is a mile down the road from my house, so that's hard to beat.  The people there are all very friendly, however the actual sermons are a bit different from the Lutheran services that we normally attend.  I'm not sure if the Hubby will like it when he gets back home in a few weeks or not, since he was raised Lutheran and I think that is all he has ever attended.  It's pretty casual in this church (Autumn Woods Christian Church in Dalzell, SC), and I actually find myself missing some of the Lutheran structure.  I'm still undecided on it.
Second, I went to the shooting range and shot my two guns.  I'm working on getting used to a new one right now and today was the second time that I've shot it.
Third, on my way home from the range I went on a quest for some boiled peanuts, found some at a little local store and then went home.
Fourth, watched the last 60 laps of the Daytona 500 while eating my boiled peanuts.
Does it get much more Southern than that???  I seriously doubt it.

Cafe Escapes Dark Chocolate Hot Cocoa

In the last post I said that I didn't really care for the Cafe Escape beverages I had tried through the free BzzAgent campaign so far, I have changed my mind! I had the cafe vanilla the other day, it was yummy, but not quite to the point of purchasing. I am drinking the Dark Chocolate hot cocoa right now, I have to say I am enjoying it, I even tossed in a few marshmallows. It is the right amount of sweetness, very chocolatey and smells like brownies. I don't usually like cocoa, but this is very yummy. I'm impressed, its MUCH better than the milk chocolate hot cocoa that I tried last week.
Coming soon...My Aunt's reviews of the Keurig cups that I sent her.

Update!
I shared some of the K-Cups that Bzzagent sent me for free, with my Aunt in Maine. Here are her opinions:

Cafe Vanilla - Very nice on a cold winters afternoon. Smooth and Creamy with a nice vanilla taste. I would not want it in the morning as it is very sweet but but for a dessert or other time of day it is very nice.

Cafe Caramel - I did not care for this one as much. Altho it had a nice caramel flavor it was very sweet. It might like it better as an iced coffee but I tried it hot and do not think I would buy it.

If I keep sending her free samples to spread the Bzz, maybe she'll sign up and become a BzzAgent herself. :)

Thanks for the free stuff BzzAgent, I love it!

Cafe Escapes

I am participating in a BzzAgent campaign to test various flavors of Cafe Escapes Keurig brew cups. My hubby and I bought ourselves a Keurig around Christmas time and we really like it. He is a coffee drinker, however I cannot drink coffee and prefer tea as a hot beverage. There are several varieties of tea, cocoa, and cider in Keurig cups and I have tried several of them. Cafe Escapes has flavored beverages including a Chai Latte, which I actually got 2 boxes of for Christmas from my Hubby and my Mom, granted its not Starbucks quality Chai, but its decent. This is one of the flavors in the sample pack from BzzAgent, in addition to a couple of hot cocoas, a caramel cafe, a mocha, and cafe vanilla. I did not much care for the milk chocolate hot cocoa, I thought I could taste a hint of a hazelnutty/amaretto kind of essence, I don't like that flavor. The caramel cafe is sweet and creamy, it was pretty good. I haven't tried the vanilla cafe yet, but I expect that it will be similar to the caramel. These beverages do contain powdered milk which tends to disagree with some stomachs, so if you are intolerant than these will not likely be good for you. Packages of these Cafe Escapes Keurig cups run around $12.00 for 12 or 16 cups.

BzzAgent Garnier Skin Renew

I am a BzzAgent and  I am testing out this new product called Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Peel.  Granted I don't really have any dark spots on my face, I do have some freckles and acne spots though.  The label says it will make my skin even toned and exfoliated.  I have only done one night of the trial, so I have noticed any changes yet, but I will keep it going and see what happens.

Taco Night

Tonight I made tacos for dinner for the first time in awhile.  "White Girl Tacos" as we used to call them when I had a group of girlfriends in California: Grace, Tish, Gina, Angela and Carla.  Me and Carla were the only "white" girls, and Angela is Korean but Grace, Tish and Gina are beautiful wonderful Latina Chicas.  Of course being Hispanic they have their own way of making tacos, and Carla and I had our own way, thus the term "White Girl Tacos".  LOL those were fun times.
In any case, back to tonight's taco endeavour...   My typical struggle with tacos is that the Old El Paso shells are all busted up 9 times out of 10 when I open the box.  We had actually given up on buying them, because it was always a disappointment, we had switched to soft shelled tacos the past few times, which I don't like as much.  When my hubby is gone away on trips I get to experiment with different foods, so this time I bought Ortega shells and ground turkey.  I want to praise the Ortega people for their ingenious method of packaging their shells, may I present the awesomeness of it all:
I can't say that I approve of the waste of plastic in the packaging, but I will forgive them for it.  There was not a broken shell in the bunch.  Hey Old El Paso! Take note, simple cellophane with a little paper triangle inside does NOT protect shells from breakage.  Good job Ortega, you have a new customer!  These shells taste good, and their size is just right, the other company's shells were turning into mini tacos recently.
Here is the finished product, they were delish! Mucho Bueno (if that's a term).

Greetings and Salutations!

Welcome to my new blog home.  My plan is to use this page for things that I want to talk about, photos I want to show, and reviews that I want to write.  I do product reviews for a site called BzzAgent.com and I will put reviews and information about the items that I am trying out here too.  I hope you enjoy my little space on the web, follow my blog and visit often!
